A BOOK REVIEW:

As a keen reader of late, not all books make it past first base.
I have long ago given up on 'ploughing through' for the sake of finishing.
However 'When the Glitter fades' had little trouble in engaging a reader from start to finish.
The depth of the characters chasing their dreams of show business, who span three generations was a standout positive for myself.
Showcasing their trials to simply survive in the challenging times of the 'Great Depression' , War and era illnesses diseases like 'Polio'
The writers attention to detail was a catylist to suck this reader into the lives of these people.
Each threw caution to the wind to perform at a time when the population craved something bright.
No character was flawless, as in real life, the times dictated many decisions and consequences.
Attention to detail on 'Period Costume' and general dress provided excellent mental images.
