SHOUT OUT TO THOSE THAT DO THEIR WORK WITH PATIENTS FEELING DARK

IN DEEP APPRECIATION 14-03-2026
In the sphere of injecting space.
Dignity long gone without a trace
In what could be only gloom.
There is also relief in this room
Of the caring staff in the cancer ward.
And the monthly patients time I shared.
Hooked up with tubes tied down to chairs.
We all together in this clinical place of care
Where ‘beeps’ those ‘bloody beeps’ give one the creeps’
Listening, lying chilling on the bloody cold white sheets.
With ever vigil to medicinal needs by the scurrying staff.
Giving much warmth is the medicine with a dose of laugh.
There have two prongs when they train.
One for the body, the other for the brain.
With an extra dimension of patient care.
A mix of reality with human light to share.
Welcome diversion to focus on the brighter side.
In a sphere of shocked reality of no place to hide.
To hear a cheeky comment of nurse running past.
Creates a lasting spark of personal link really fast.
HUMAN TREATMENT OVER TUBES IS BY FAR THE BEST
