FROM PADDOCK TO TRUCK TO PLATE:

For some a very familiar opperation.

For others it may be something new.

SETTING THE SCENE:

SORTED AND DRAFTED FOR TRUCKING

THE MOVERS AND SHAKERS:

Meet 'Baylee'

THE JOB IS DONE----------BEER A'CLOCK SOMEWHERE

BAYLEE

Clermont Bush Girl with a Brain:

Searching NT experience to gain.

An open face with a happy dial.

A wicked laugh and cheery smile.

Quiet alert of happening’s around.

Where needed Baylee will be found.

Doesn’t agitate stock or frantic shout.

Concentrating what her task is all about.

Reads the stock with handy eye.

A country girl not hard work shy.

Knows her livestock reading stuff.

Judging when a beast is just a bluff.

Reading which situation to set sail.

Reaching for safety of the top rail.

When day is done after heat and dirt.

Baylee looks a grub in her work shirt.

Her smile unchanged has this to say.

She wouldn’t have it any other way.

The art of relaxing at ‘Beer O’clock’

Is all important when working stock.

'Meet Henry'

STILL WORKING
STILL WORKING

HENRY

A true Mexican from Albury South.

Speaks Territory words from his mouth.

While he doesn’t waste a lot of words.

Communicates the way the cattle herd.

What needs to be done, fully understands.

Moves round all aspects of the task in hand.

When others may not have the job in mind.

Henry offers advice in a voice soft and kind.

All this he does with one broken wing in a sling.

A direct result of a lost stoush with a cow ding.

Just didn’t see cranky bitch coming roaring round.

Saw her come for second try while on the ground.

Short stint in hospital, I sposin he was told to rest.

Guess what they didn’t know, Henry does his best.

Not one to sit around watching others do the work.

Tis just not the style of “work ethics” to practice shirk

You see a one arm in a sling as ‘second-in-command’

Even though he is temporarily, slightly under-manned.

Come time for knock off bell, still searching jobs to do.

Walk around the workshop, bikes need attention too.

Around nights ‘Grubs Up’ table “Emu Export” in hand.

Henry grins and contributing to the bullshit banter band.

Living the life he wants, far away from Melbourne town.

Reckon Henry may be exempt of the ‘Mexican’ title now
